Application Process

The first step in becoming ACIHE accredited is completion of the ACIHE Preliminary Accreditation Application. The purpose of the Preliminary Accreditation Application is to provide ACIHE with information necessary to determine if the educational program is eligible for ACIHE full accreditation and to assist the institution in developing the 12-month Self-Study that follows.

Preliminary accreditation is focused on immediate plans for implementation during the coming year and on the maturity of planning for subsequent curricular years. It is critical that the preliminary application provides an up-to-date picture of the current status of international healthcare education at the educational institution. As ACIHE reviews preliminary applications gaps or inconsistencies may be noted, and request made for other documentation.
